Once upon a time ago there was a boy who wanted to help make the world right so he hardened his heart and became a self made God. In order to follow his perfect plan to create his perfect Utopia he had to find and then do away with the boy who became the world's greatest detective. So he scoured the world over and finally found and ensnared his enemies’ one weakness - his heart. Once under his influence the boy-God prepared to deal out his judgment upon the detective but when it came to the final blow he found he could not deliver it. For you see this boy-God had fallen for the curious boy who had become the world's greatest detective and would do anything to keep him by his side...



Ok three weeks is enough time spent on this... AND STILL THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DETAIL DAMNIT. RAWR!
The mix of traditional media (was done in water colors) and digital coloring turned out...interesting. Probably looks bad, har har.

Funny thought I had after adding in the stained glass (yes that's terribly done stained glass behind both L and Light) which made me think of churches - If it weren't for the whole gay vibe with the stolen heart bit of this picture I could have TOTALLY proclaimed this a fanart for #Church-Of-L vs #Kira-Worshippers. To whose church do YOU belong? WHO IS YOUR CHOSEN MESSIAH!?


So yea I'm not sure how to explain the whole story behind this. Funny thing - this started out as a picture of L dancing with death because he did enough of that before he was, y'know... Anywho how about I just make a checklist of what I wanted in this picture.

Yup. That about covers it. Also my favorite part of the pic is the drapery. The folds suck but the detail turned out nice! Yay! Now how about I give another whack at that picture of L dancing with death... and religious themed DN pics would be epic fun.
