Artspired: The Pieta

Honestly I think this goes beyond just being inspired by 'The Pietà' and is more like a combination of *insert various artists representation of 'The Pieta'*, *insert various Gothic, Renaissance, and mannerism era depictions of Madonna and child* and Italian Renaissance portraits.  But instead of something meaningful or truly religious (or even a portrait!) it's just Manwë holding an utterly defeated Mairon after his defeat by the Fellowship of the Ring.  I imagine Manwë would need to cast judgement upon Mairon after he pretty much broke Middle-Earth but no one ever said it would be easy _{especially if said stupid ass Maia used to be yer pretty ass boyfriend that your brother totes seduced.  Melkor is such a home-wrecker, yo.}

I wanted to draw a reflection within the crystal orb that showed the true monstrosity Mairon should appear to be at this point while how he appears in picture would be how Manwë perceives Mairon still to be. That reflection would have been too tiny to really see so I axed the idea.

...oh. I also ship Maiwë.  Perhaps I should have mentioned this a long time ago.   In any case I totes owed some Maiwë to since she too is open to the idea of that odd ship.  It's, like, too many months late but I hope I made it pretty enough for ya.  =3 _{and depressing as hell, lyke omg.}
